Axis 3D was a pioneering 3D printing startup I co-founded during my undergraduate years in 2019, alongside a group of university friends. Our vision was to revolutionize the landscape of 3D printing and prototyping in Pakistan by introducing cutting-edge technology and comprehensive services. We successfully launched our own production line of 3D printers and offered a wide range of printing solutions, catering to diverse client needs. Through strategic collaborations, we secured valuable deals with major clients, positioning Axis 3D as a key player in the emerging 3D printing industry within the region.
Our operational strategy focused on delivering high-quality, customized solutions. I was actively involved in developing and optimizing Marlin firmware to enhance printer performance, ensuring precise and reliable outputs. Additionally, I specialized in 3D modeling using Blender, creating detailed models tailored to client specifications. We emphasized rapid prototyping, allowing us to develop and iterate designs efficiently to meet dynamic project requirements. Troubleshooting both hardware and software issues was a critical part of our process, ensuring seamless functionality and client satisfaction. Collaborating closely with clients helped us deliver bespoke 3D models and foster strong business relationships.
Despite facing challenges due to stringent government regulations on 3D printing in Pakistan, which ultimately led to the closure of Axis 3D, the journey was an invaluable learning experience. It provided me with hands-on skills in entrepreneurship, innovation, and client relations, and taught me the importance of adaptability and resilience in business. Every obstacle and failure became a lesson, enriching my understanding of business dynamics and technical problem-solving, which continues to influence my professional growth today.
